You move into your cabins and get a safety briefing as well as a briefing about how the yacht works. Afterwards you will have a sailing meeting and then you can go and find dinner in a restaurant.
In the morning it is time for you to get going! Your day starts with breakfast at sea and after that you can test the yacht and practice sailing. You will sail to one of the coves on the West coast of Menorca and you will spend the evening there and also sleep there.
The following activities and more are on the agenda: Getting to know the boat, games on the boat and in the water, making a flag, being the captain.
You will sail along the Menorcan coastline heading South and you will go past sandy beaches and spectacularly deep coves. You can stop as and when you want in order to swim or to head to the land on the dinghy. Depending on the weather you will either spend the night on the western or the southern side of the island. On board there are lots of things to learn through active play: what do the clouds tell us? What is the point of a compass? What can a nautical chart tell us?
Sail to Pearl Harbour
You sail to Mahon, the capital city and stop at Pearl Harbour, the second largest natural harbour in the world. You will have the opportunity to visit two castles, La Mola and Sant Felip. You can also stroll through the charming old town. You can eat dinner at a restaurant.
The day’s highlights are the swimming and diving games as well as the water experiments: what is swimming in the sea? Why is the sea salty?
Sailing to the North
Sail along the East coast to the North where there is the picturesque cove system near the Isla de Colom. You will anchor up in front of the sleepy little village, Es Grau. You can walk through the nature and bird protection area S’Albufera des Grau.
You continue sailing along the steep cliffs and the white sandy beaches to a beautiful turquoise coves on the northern side of Menorca. In the afternoon, there is time for a walk along the solitary natural shores.
You sail to Majorca where you can have a long swim before you sail the yacht back to its home port. Sail like a little champion: children and adults can now sail the yacht all on their own!

The sailing boats that we use are 13 to 15 metre long sport yachts. Inside they resemble floating apartments with a large lounge, kitchen, two to three toilets with warm showers and 4-5 spacy cabins. At the stern there is a bathing platform and an outside shower. There is also a dinghy on board. The yachts have all got very high safety levels and excellent sailing characteristics. The safety features make the boat safe for children. Standard equipment like a safety net and life jackets for children are of course on board. The yachts are especially safely equipped so that you can have an unforgettable experience on your family sailing holiday.
The wind and the weather can sometimes require an unexpected change of route and that is something that has to be accepted on a sailing holiday. On Sunday you sail in one long journey from Majorca to Menorca (depending on the wind and the weather approx. 8 - 12 hours). On the other days you sail shorter stages, which usually take between 3 and 6 hours. You can takes breaks to swim and you will either sleep anchored out at sea or in a marina. On Friday you sail a longer stage again back to Majorca from Menorca (depending on wind and weather conditions approx. 8 -12 hours). The boat stays in the harbour for the first and last night of the tour.
The maximum number of people to be on board including the skipper is 11. The skipper has had training so that they are especially trained in dealing with children. Two to four families can stay on board in the double cabins. The fridge and the pantry are well stocked with food and soft drinks by the skipper. The crew, so the parents and children, cook (and wash up) on the family sailing holiday together. If the crew would like and if the boat is moored in a harbour, then you can have dinner in a restaurant. Both the kids and parents will sail the boat from harbour to harbour under the instruction and watchful eye of the skipper. In the afternoons and evenings of this sailing tour, you will spend time in bays and looking around small coastal towns.
Would you and your family prefer to sail on a boat of your own? We will happily reserve one of our yachts including team for you.
